■ Kusatsu Onsen

The “Yubatake Tree & Illumination” was held from November 22, 2025 to February 23, 2026, featuring a 13-meter fir tree adorned with approximately 30,000 lights (lit 17:00-23:00). The candle event “Yume no Akari” (Dream Lights) continues in 2026, creating a magical atmosphere with over 1,200 candles and rising steam (upcoming dates include March 13 and March 28). At “Netsu-no-Yu,” the traditional “Yumomi and Dance” show featuring yumomi maidens is performed six times daily.

■ Ikaho Onsen

The iconic 365-step stone stairway street of Ikaho Onsen features year-round evening illumination (18:00-24:00). The annual “Ikaho Matsuri” (Ikaho Shrine Grand Festival) takes place September 18-20 each year, featuring the exciting spectacle of barrel-mikoshi being carried up the steep stone steps.

■ Haruna Shrine

Haruna Shrine, with over 1,400 years of history, is planning a “Hinoe-uma Kanreki Taisai” (60th anniversary grand festival) in 2026. Please note that restoration work is currently underway on various historical structures, and the main hall may be inaccessible for approximately five years from autumn onward.
